Catalina González Piffre was born in Santiago, Chile where she started her career as copywriter and creative director in advertising before landing on cinema. At the same time, she attended screenwriting courses like Story from Robert McKee in 2009, The Anatomy of Story of John Truby in 2013, and TV series screenwriting from Ignacio Arnold, in 2014. In 2015 she wrote and directed her first short film "Como los terremotos", selected to be premiered at the SANFICI2 (International Cinema Festival in Santiago) in 2016 and selected at other countries like Spain and Australia. Catalina is part of production company Funky Films, headquartered in Santiago, and has worked for clients like Fox Sports, Apple, CMR Falabella and Burger King. She has been also directing and writing for the fiction series “The End”, created with screenwriter and producer Santiago O'Ryan, rewarded with CORFO 2017 (Fondo Nacional de Chile), her Opera Prima, the feature film "Mala Madre", produced by Oro Films that won the Audiovisual Fund from Chile to be developed in 2020.
