Airina Imran writes. She’s been writing since the time when xerox zines were cool (were they ever?) and when tweets were just marker-penned thoughts in toilet stalls. One day she joined advertising and got paid for it. Her decade-long career includes colourful stints at McCann Erickson, Ogilvy & Mather, JWT, and Saatchi & Saatchi, before returning as Creative Director at her first love, Ogilvy & Mather. She’s worked on some of the world's finest brands like MasterCard, HSBC, BMW, Coca-Cola, and Dove. And gained some modest recognition in creative award shows like One Show, Spikes, Webby’s and Creative Circle Awards. With a background in film production, she crafts stories for both brands and inspiration alike based on the verity that powerful stories cross boundaries. She finds herself constantly returning to the subject of ‘Identity’ and finds it a great privilege to meet and nurture the next generation of giants to continue the fine legacy of advertising. When not playing adman, Airina makes jams, crafts Tinder profiles for her friends, overfeeds her cat and is currently writing a sitcom about two misbehaving geriatrics in Singapore. She’s adept at finding humour in anything, writes poetry to heal and thanks that life is too long for patience and virtue.
